Blue Palo Verde (Cercidium floridum) is a tree that is native to the southwestern US and northwestern Mexico. It has distinctive blue-green leaves and branches. The branches become covered with small yellow blossoms and seed pods in the spring. Because of the large volume of blooms dropped by the trees, Palo Verdes should not be planted near pools or other areas that would be affected. The tree can grow to heights of 40 ft.
