Precision Laboratories, EIFG announce results of Earth Day event

19 May, 2011 LM Direct!

WAUKEGAN, IL — Precision Laboratories announced the results from its Earth Day social media event that took place last month. The company ran a one-day donation campaign to urge participation from the industry to help make up to a $5,000 donation to The Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG). Precision
Laboratories reported strong engagement from the turfgrass community and great support from key influencers who helped spread the word in their social media communities.

"We noticed early on that people were more than willing to help rally around a cause and support the EIFG," said Don Spier, vice president of turf and ornamentals at Precision Laboratories.  "Following us on Twitter, becoming a fan on Facebook or scanning a Microsoft Tag with a smartphone proved to be easy ways for individuals to help a cause that's important to the turfgrass industry.  We'd like to thank everyone that helped make the event a success."

The Earth Day event generated close to a $3,000 donation.  Precision Laboratories made the decision to cover the remaining amount for a total donation to the EIFG of $5,000.

"We'd like to thank Precision Laboratories for the generous donation," said Rhett Evans, CEO of the EIFG, the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.  "It was a very creative promotion utilizing social media and smart technology, while connecting the work of golf course superintendents with Earth Day."
