AT Reports: Sprayers -- Vehicle-drawn and vehicle-based sprayers

Toro's MultiPro 5700-D spray system relies on a 35.5 hp Kubota diesel engine giving it the power to handle operations on hilly and undulating turf. The sprayer has a 300-gallon tank and dual-diaphragm pump delivers constant and precise rate of application regardless of speed. The three-section boom spans 18.5 ft. The dual diaphragm pump can be run dry without damage to the seals or pump. The positive displacement design produces up to 220 psi of pressure for hand-spray applications.


Agri-Fab’s 45-0286 towable sprayer holds 45-gallons. The 12-volt towable sprayer features a 3-gpm 12-volt electric pump and quick connect electrical hookup. Its spring-loaded break-away booms spray 160 inches from fine mist to 25-foot stream. Comes with 15-foot hose with spray wand and pressure gauge. The HD300 sprayer is an attachment for the redesigned John Deere ProGator heavy-duty utility vehicle. The ProGator features a five-speed synchro-mesh transmission with seamless shifting, hydrostatic steering and a 17-in. turning radius. The Welded, 7-gauge steel frame is laser cut and formed steel construction. The ProGator is available in 23.5-hp diesel and 26-hp gas versions. 

The HD300 Sprayer attachment (left) has impact-resistant 300-gallon polyethylene spray tank for fewer refills and extended use. Side access point gives the operator easy access to fill, add chemicals, or view inside the tank.  Jet agitation ensures tank solution is well mixed. Standard personal wash system provides clean water for the operator’s safety and convenience.

The 25-gallon, ATV mounted sprayer has a 5-inch fillwell, 1-inch sump and  half-inch outlet. Powered by electric motor with a diaphragm pump and Viton¨ valves, it draws 9 amps @ 20 PSI to deliver 5.3 gpm. Has 18-inch hand gun with adjustable nozzle and 15-foot lead hose. 12-foot and 18-foot booms feature floodjet tips and spring loaded boom wing breakaway.

The JRCO Zero-Turn Sprayer uses an existing mower as a turf application vehicle. This 30-gallon sprayer quickly attaches to most mowers with clevis pins. A compact rigid frame with pneumatic swivel wheels and rigid 2-point hitch prevents jackknifing when backing. The Zero-Turn Sprayer uses a high capacity Udor diaphragm pump driven by a Briggs & Stratton 3.5-hp Industrial Plus engine to provide all day spraying. The three section breakaway boom folds to 5, 8 and 11-foot widths with individual zone valves.

This 200-gallon compact spray system’s ‘side-saddle’ mounting slips into the bed of a pick-up truck leaving room for a pallet of granular fertilizer or a supply of liquid products. The 200-gal. tank has a 16-inch fill well, a leak-proof lid and strainer with a clear strainer bowl and a 30-mesh stainless steel screen.
