Crew field staff has field ready for U.S. FIFA World Cup qualifier win over Mexico

20 Feb, 2009 Athletic Turf News

COLUMBUS, OH — You can't blame the Mexican national soccer team for not wanting to return here anytime soon, especially not in the dead of winter. This February the United States handed the Mexican squad yet another defeat in a FIFA World Cup qualifier. While the weather wasn't as cold as previous international games played at Columbus Crew Stadium (in fact it rained), the U.S. squad ran its record to 4-0-3 there with a hard-fought 2-0 decision.

As usual the small Crew field maintenance crew had the field in excellent playing condition in spite of the field being covered with a grow blanket and snow most of January.
