Jacobsen wins environmental stewardship award

CHARLOTTE, NC — Jacobsen, the international turf maintenance equipment manufacturer, has received the 2011 Environmental Excellence Gold Award from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility Department. This award honors companies for environmental excellence in protecting the local community’s water quality. Jacobsen is a division of Textron Inc.
Environmental Excellence Award winners have complied with their pollution discharge requirements, cooperated fully with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities and exhibited a proactive and innovative approach to protecting water quality.
"Jacobsen is committed to protecting our environment and operating as a responsible corporate citizen of Charlotte-Mecklenburg," says Chris Wissinger, Jacobsen’s facilities manager. "We have won the Environmental Excellence Silver Award in years past, so to win the Gold Award this year is confirmation that we are making the right decisions to effectively manage our environmental impact.
