OSTMA Summer Field Day planned for Akron's Canal Park

AKRON, OH —The Ohio SportsTurf Managers Association’s Summer Field Day is set for Tuesday, June 29, at Canal Park here, home of the Akron Aeros baseball team. The Aeros are the AA farm club of the MLB Cleveland Indians.

Speakers include:

— Larry Vogel, Spring Valley Fertilizers, talking about fertilization principles
— Rob Palmer and Ron Tados, Weed Pro, offering instruction on fertilizer spreader calibration
— Ryan Gregoire and Jason Griffits, Ag Design, a Q&A on field maintenance, renovation and construction
— Afternoon sessions on mound maintenance by Matt Duncan, CSFM, Akron Aeros and vendor demos
