Shaw Sportexe starts huge sports complex in Virginia
28 May, 2010 Athletic Turf NewsMIDLOTHIAN, VA — Shaw Sportexe will begin construction immediately on SportsQuest, a massive sports and entertainment complex located here. It will be responsible for installing a total of 1.7 million sq. ft. of artificial turf that will consist of 17 sports fields, a one-acre lawn and 40,000 sq. ft. of warm-up area. The fields will be used for various sports including soccer, lacrosse, football and field hockey.
The first million square feet of turf will be installed and ready to play on for fall programs. Remaining areas will be completed by Dec. 31st of this year.

We are poised to dramatically change the nature of family engagement in sport tournaments and sport development,” he added.

Shaw Sportexe is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway and counts more 700 successful installations, including high-profile clients such as the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, LSU and the University of Arkansas.
SportsQuest is a 250-acre sports and family entertainment campus being developed in Chesterfield County, VA. The campus will support recreational, youth development, and high performance programming in 30 sports. SportsQuest will also own and operate a number of professional sports teams, like the IFL league–leading Richmond Revolution, its indoor football team.
