FieldTurf becomes the official artificial turf of the Georgia High School Association
27 Apr, 2010 Athletic TurfATLANTA — FieldTurf and the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) have announced a partnership in the state of Georgia where FieldTurf has become the ‘Official Artificial Turf of the GHSA’.
FieldTurf’s emphasis on the safety of athletes is parallel to the level of importance that the GHSA places on athletic safety. FieldTurf has proven to be the safest artificial turf product on the planet via long-term studies at the high school and college football levels.
"It is apparent that more and more high schools in Georgia are looking to modify their grass fields because it is more economical in the long-run,” said GHSA Executive Director Dr. Ralph Swearngin. “I am pleased to have a partnership with FieldTurf, the recognized leader in the industry. It is important to be able to assure GHSA schools that they are dealing with reputable people who do quality work."
“It is a pleasure for FieldTurf to be partnering with an organization like the GHSA that is synonymous with safety in athletics,” said FieldTurf Regional Vice President Jim Shanahan. “We have installed over 25 FieldTurf fields in the state of Georgia as the merits of the FieldTurf product have become well known throughout the state at all levels of play, especially throughout high school sports.”
FieldTurf recently announced that Buford (GA) High School, a perennial powerhouse in the annals of AA football throughout the state, has selected FieldTurf for two of its fields on campus.
The GHSA is a voluntary organization composed of more than 400 public and private high schools. It provides services through the organization and administration of region and state events in sports and activities.
