NE turf managers plan event at Boston College
29 Mar, 2007 Athletic Turf NewsBOSTON, MA — If you take care of sports fields in New England or the Northeast, mark your calendars for Wednesday, July 25, and plan on heading to Boston College for the day.

The New England Sports Turf Managers Association event planned for the brand new Yawkey Center features an incredible day of networking and learning. The Yawkey Center is the new $26 million athletic center at Boston College.
Here’s the lineup for the event:
8:00 a.m. — 10:00 a.m. — Synthetic Field Demonstrations: field groomers, anti-microbials and disinfectants, latest technologies and trends.
10 a.m. — noon: Dr. Andrew McNitt, Ph.D., Penn State University, will discuss the agronomic, playability and financial considerations in constructing different types of sports fields — synthetic and natural turf systems.
Noon — 12:45p.m.: Buffet lunch at the Yawkey Center/Murray Room
12:45 p.m. — 1:00 p.m. — BC Football Coach Jeff Jagodzinski and Boston Red Sox Head Groundskeeper David Mellor will make some comments.
1:00 p.m. — 2:00 p.m. Professionals Open Round Table with Andy McNitt; Pat McGuire of Geller Sports; Steve LeGros; Norm Reid; Matt Hayes with BC; and David Pinnsoneault from the Town of Lexington.
