WESTON, FL — A landscaper died in an accident in Weston, FL, when his lawn tractor lost traction and overturned into a pond.

Carlos Carbena, 43, was at Bonaventure Country Club, 200 Bonaventure Blvd., on driving a John Deere tractor with a rear mower attached when the accident occurred. He was trapped and crushed by the tractor and died by asphyxiation, an autopsy found.

Co-workers noticed the overturned tractor in a pond near the 10th hole of the east golf course and called 911. Carbena, who lived nearby, was an employee of ValleyCrest Golf Course Maintenance.
