HMI offers extended warranty program on woody plants

24 Jan, 2006 LM Week in Review

RALEIGH, NC — Horticultural Asset Management, Inc. (HMI) recently announced a new multi-year extended warranty program on woody plants that will be institutionally underwritten and commercially available. The program will be offered initially to select wholesale nurseries which have joined HMI’s Premier Nursery Network.

“With this warranty program, qualified wholesale nurseries can offer their professional installers multi-year extended warranties on the plants they sell,” explained Margie Boccieri, HMI VP of Corporate Development. Boccieri said that installers in turn will be able to offer the consumer a greater level of protection.

“It is our opinion that by increasing consumers’ confidence in their investments in plant material, they will buy more and larger plants,” Boccieri added.

“We are pleased that HMI has been able to develop this extended warranty product, which is certain to benefit wholesale growers, installers and the entire industry,” said Bob Dolibois, executive vice president of the American Nursery & Landscape Association (ANLA).

To qualify for the initial extended warranty program, nurseries must meet specific sales and product criteria. For more information visit HMI at www.moneygrowsontrees.com.
