JMMDS Hosts Vermont Stone Workshop

Landscape designer Julie Moir Messervy will host master dry stone waller Dan Snow in a hands-on workshop in Westminster, VT, on the art of placing stone. Combining Snow’s walling experience with Messervy's skill in stone composition, the two will instruct participants on how to arrange stone in a variety of different forms on the land.
Over the course of this three-and-a-half-day workshop, participants practice in small groups with both Messervy and Snow and his assistants on a variety of projects and skill-building exercises. Field trips, stone setting exercises and outdoor activities are included. Participants will have the option to test for DSWA Dry Stone Walling Certification.
The cost of the workshop is $1,180 per person. Student scholarships are available. All scholarship application materials are due June 1, 2010.
