ANLA Partners with OFA and GCA for 2009 Educational Programs

28 Nov, 2008 LDB Solutions

The American Nursery and Landscape Association (ANLA) has partnered with OFA – an Association of Floriculture Professionals, and the Garden Centers of America (GCA) to exchange member pricing benefits for key programs in 2009.

Under the agreement, OFA members will be able to attend the ANLA Management Clinic, February 6-9, 2009 at ANLA member pricing; and ANLA members will be able to attend the OFA Short Course, July 11-14, 2009 at OFA member pricing. Likewise, GCA members will be able to attend the February 2009 ANLA Management Clinic at the ANLA member price; and ANLA members had access to the November 2009 GCA Holiday Tour at member pricing.

“With the challenging economic climate facing both our organizations’ members, this is an opportunity to provide the education they need to succeed in the year ahead,” says ANLA President, Greg Schaan.

OFA and GCA members can register for the ANLA Management Clinic through the website. The ANLA Management Clinic is a business education event, featuring both nationally and internationally recognized speakers, as well as industry experts, held annually in Louisville, KY. OFA and GCA members will see familiar faces like Stan Pohmer, speaking about strategies for bridging current demographic trends, and new faces, like George Koziarz, who will address speaking to your bank about credit this spring.

ANLA members will receive information regarding the 2009 OFA Short Course, held each year in Columbus, OH. The OFA Short Course is one of the top floriculture events in the United States, and annually draws approximately 10,000 attendees to the 1,500-booth trade show and educational program. For more information visit the OFA website.

“This partnership is a welcome opportunity to serve the needs of our members in the challenging year ahead,” says OFA President, Bobby Barnitz. “It also allows both organizations to foster the working relationship we developed during the 2008 OFA Short Course, which was host to ANLA’s 2008 Annual Meeting.”

“This exchange offers garden centers access to both educational opportunities,” says GCA President Ken Long. “This can only be a win for both of our organizations’ members.”

In addition to this one year agreement to exchange educational benefits, representatives of ANLA and GCA will meet in 2009 to discuss other opportunities to collaborate.
