ADAIRSVILLE, GA — Sakai America offers a full line of soil rollers that consist of five model lines: SV201, SV400-2, SV505-1, SV510-III and SV610-III — totaling 17 different soil rollers that range from 54- to 84-in. drum widths to help contractors compact more material faster on a wide variety of soil compaction jobs.
Sakai's entire soil compactor line offers a smooth drum or padfoot option as well as the smooth/padfoot combination drum option to meet a variety of soil applications. The smooth drum is designed for rock and granular materials whereas the padfoot drum is ideal for cohesive material, silts and clays. The smooth/padfoot combination drum offers a quick change, dual purpose drum that does not require modifications to the hydraulic system when being converted.
The SV201 Series consists of three models: the smooth drum SV201D weighs 9,590 lbs, the padfoot SV201T weighs 9,810 lbs, the padfoot SV201TB with strike-off blade that weighs 10,470 lbs and the padfoot/smooth drum combination SV201TF that weighs 11,465 lbs. This series comes with a 54-in. drum width and is powered by a fuel-efficient 60 hp Cummins, liquid-cooled diesel engine. The series also offers center-point articulated steering that enables the roller to maneuver up close to foundations, walls, footings and pipe placements. It is ideal for utility work, large trench compaction and small site prep jobs.
The SV400-2 Series vibratory soil compactor line also consists of four models: the SV400D-2, 16,210 lb smooth drum, the SV400T-2, 16,760 lb padfoot, the SV400TB-2, 17,530 lb padfoot with strike-off blade and the SV400TF-2, 19,620 lb padfoot/smooth drum combination roller. The series offers a 67-in. drum width and is powered by a fuel efficient 100 hp Deutz, liquid-cooled diesel engine that meets current environmental regulations. This model also offers dual amplitude and dual frequency, as well as a high centrifugal force up to 28,660 lbs. to ensure rapid compaction on a variety of soil types. The SV400-2 Series is well suited for medium compaction jobs and a variety of soil applications such as rockfill-highway bases, embankments, retaining walls and building foundations.
Sakai 's SV505-1 and SV510-III Series all offer an 84-in. drum width. The SV505-1 series consists of the SV505D-1, 23,525 lb smooth drum and SV505T-1, 24,320 lb padfoot model. Both are powered by a fuel-efficient water-cooled 130 hp Cummins diesel engine.
The SV510-III Series consists of the SV510D-III, 23,525 lb smooth drum, the SV510T-III, 24,320 lb padfoot, the SV510TB-III, 25,375 lb padfoot with strike-off blade and the SV510TF-III 29,255 lb padfoot/smooth drum combination roller. These models are all powered by a low noise, fuel-efficient 148 hp Cummins, water-cooled diesel engine that complies with current EPA/CARB emissions standards.
The SV505-1 and SV510-III Series are ideal for medium to high compaction jobs such as airport and highway subbase compaction as well as dams and high volume site prep jobs.
Sakai's largest soil compactor, the SV610-III Series, comes in three model variations: the SV610D-III smooth drum model, weighing in at 27,555 lbs, the SV610T-III, 27,710 lb padfoot roller and the SV610TF-III model that weighs 32,560 lbs and includes a padfoot/smooth drum combination. This series comes with an 84-in. drum width and is designed for high yardage compaction jobs on a wide range of soils and rockfill applications – highway and airport subbases, embankments, dams, reservoirs, and large commercial tracts.
The SV610-III Series compactors are powered by a fuel efficient, Tier III, Cummins QSB4.5, 148hp water-cooled, turbocharged diesel engine. This engine fully complies with current EPA/CARB emission standards.
Sakai's SV400-2, SV505-1, SV510-III and SV610-III models come standard with dual amplitude and with Sakai's patented shock isolation system, which reduces the transmission of vibration back to the machine's components as well as the operator. The SV201 comes standard with single amplitude and frequency.
All of Sakai's soil compactors are equipped with a two-brake, three-way failsafe system. A hydrostatic service brake is located at the forward-reverse lever. Switching of the wet disc, spring-applied, hydraulically-released (SAHR) parking brake switch is located on the instrument panel. An emergency brake foot pedal activates both the hydrostatic and the SAHR brakes that will automatically apply in the event of an engine or hydraulic system failure. ROPS and seat belts are also standard equipment on every Sakai roller sold in North America.
Sakai manufactures and markets a full line of compaction equipment, including vibratory soil compactors, vibratory asphalt rollers, vibratory pneumatic tire rollers and static three-wheelers and other combination rollers.
