Green Work Truck Technology on Display

Wondering what the future holds for fuel efficiency and "green" technology when it comes to work trucks? Check out the Green Truck Summit, part of next week's Work Truck Show 2009 and 45th Annual National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Convention at the McCormick Place West Building in Chicago.

The Green Truck Summit provides up-to-date information on hybrid and alternative fuel options for work trucks. The Summit is an education forum for the real-world application of the “green” revolution as it impacts commercial trucks. This special session is held on Tuesday, March 3 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A ticket is required. 

During show hours on March 4 and 5, Work Truck Show attendees can test-drive new hybrid and alternative fuel commercial vehicles as part of the Green Truck Ride-and-Drive. Participation is free and sign up is available on-site. The following 12 vehicles are currently scheduled to be available:

Texas billionaire, energy activist and entrepreneur T. Boone Pickens will give the keynote address at Green Truck Summit portion of the show on March 3. The Green Truck Summit keynote is followed by four general sessions and 18 breakout sessions covering alternative fuels, hybrid vehicle technology, fleet experiences with existing technology, and the latest product and technology developments.

Mike Rowe, host of the Discovery Channel’s Dirty Jobs and Deadliest Catch, will give The World Truck Show's keynote address at the President’s Breakfast and NTEA Annual Meeting on March 5 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.

With 500,000 square feet of new vocational trucks, equipment and related products and special sessions on green trucks, The Work Truck Show 2009 and 45th Annual National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Convention is a great resource for landscape design-build professionals interested in improving the efficiencies of their fleets.
