NAUGATUCK, CT — Barber Turf Rakes are designed to lift stones and debris in one pass, leaving soil aerated and graded, reducing labor costs and readying soil for overseeding or other site preparation requirements.
Towed and powered by a tractor, Turf Rakes are equipped with hundreds of spring tines mounted in offset rows. The unit’s moldboard levels the ground, which is then passed over by the tines that rake through the graded soil. This allows stones and debris to be deposited onto the elevating conveyor.
The material then moves up the conveyor and is dropped in a hopper that can hold up to 3,800 lbs. of material. The Turf Rake can remove stones ranging from 1/2 in. to 4 in. in diameter. It’s built with a low profile, wide frame, and low center of gravity, with large flotation tires to provide safe and stable operation on sloped or uneven terrain. The Turf Rake can prepare as much as 3 acres every hour for highly efficient production. It levels, cleans and prepares soil for seeding in one pass, making the best use of time and equipment.
