Landscape contractors add waterscaping services to boost profits
17 Jun, 2010 LDB SolutionsHorizon Distributors Inc. educates contractors on how to get started in waterscaping.
The U.S. Census says consumers spend nearly $40 billion annually on upgrading outdoor living spaces. With many homeowners opting to invest in these spaces, waterscapes have become a major design trend in the landscape industry. Horizon Distributors says its BizPro eSources help landscape contractors capitalize on the increasing demand for waterscaping services and stand out from the competition.
Waterscaping is any outdoor water feature, other than a pool or a spa, used to enhance an outdoor living environment. Ponds and waterfalls are the two most common waterscaping features. Waterscaping can be added to any new or existing landscape. Waterscaping services typically have a 30 to 50% profit margin.
“Adding waterscaping to landscape contractors’ list of service offerings can be an effective solution for dealing with the tough economic times,” says Dan Puthuff, construction channel manager, Horizon Distributors. “Water features come in many shapes and sizes and can be easily customized to meet each client’s personal preference and budget. Plus, the barriers to enter the market and start selling waterscaping products and services are not overly high or costly.
