A new and different source of great irrigation info
28 Jun, 2010 By: Ron Hall i-news
Welcome to the industry's newest and most up to date source of irrigation news. This is the first of Landscape Management magazine’s monthly enewsletters focusing on landscape irrigation — the “I-newsletter" where you will find unique information that will make you a better water manager and steward of the environment.
We believe time is overdue for new, compelling and more practical coverage of landscape irrigation that is so critical to the health of turfgrass and ornamentals. Our green landscapes, like ourselves, cannot survive without water. In our new “I-newsletter” we promise accurate, valuable and up-to-date information concerning irrigation best practices, technologies, news, trends and water-conserving products.
One of our broader goals will be to fit landscape irrigation into the larger picture of our nation’s use of fresh water, especially since our industry's use of water is sometimes criticized (fairly and infairly) as being a water waster.
In reality, landscape irrigation accounts for a tiny fraction of the approximately 400 billion gallons of fresh water withdrawn in the United States for use each day. Even so, it is a consumptive use of the most precious resource on the planet, which means we must use it in the wisest possible manner.
We promise to deliver the latest news along with cutting edge landscape irrigation tips and strategies in each monthly I-newsletter.
Please let us know what you think of the I-newsletter (both the good and not-so-good) and how we can make it more valuable to you.
