MSMA herbicide cancellation by EPA pending
HERNDON, VA — According to the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), the EPA has informed MSMA registrants that it intends to proceed with the cancellation (for MSMA and the other organic arsenical herbicides). “If we have any chance of saving the product or delaying its cancellation, we need you to fax a letter and call your U.S. senators and representative. Benefits of MSMA are clear for licensed lawn care professionals. There is no other cost-effective herbicide available for treatment of certain weeds, including the production of turfgrass sod,” said PLANET’s Director of Government Affairs Tom Delaney in a statement. Those interested in speaking out on this issue can go to PLANET Legislative Action Center, download the form letters available there, and fax them on your letterhead to your Senators and Representatives. Also call your senators and member of Congress in their Washington, D.C., offices through the congressional switchboard at 202/225-3121. |
