CORTE MADERA, CA — ET Water Systems LLC, a 4-year-old irrigation systems supplier, was named a Wall Street Journal’s (WSJ) Innovation Award winner in the Environment category for 2006.

The media company selected the Corte Madera, CA-based company “for a landscape irrigation system that promises to reduce water use by gauging the precise watering needs of a home or business based on the location’s plants, soil types and rainfall.”

ETWater Systems recently announced a 2-year partnership with WeatherBug. WeatherBug, with more than 8,000 weather stations/rain gauges dispersed nationwide in populated metro areas, provides live, streaming local weather data to broadcasters, media, government, schools and individual customers..

ET Water Systems controllers use this up-to-the-minute weather data to irrigate grounds only when climate conditions support the need, says the company.

“With WeatherBug, we have more reliable data points and more localized weather data,” said Bruce Cardinal, company CEO. “Our smart controllers ensure that each zone received the right amount of water at the right time, ensuring optimal plant health and eliminating water waste and harmful runoff.”
