West Coast Turf offers Sea Spray as both sod and seed
PALM DESERT, CA West Coast Turf now offers Sea Spray hybrid seashore paspalum as both sod and seed. Seed is available immediately; sod will be available beginning this summer. The company says Sea Spray is an extremely salt tolerant turfgrass that thrives under the salty conditions of reclaimed water, recycled wastewater, and even seawater. It also performs well under reduced light quality conditions such as rainy, cloudy, foggy, or smoggy environments. It should not be used in full shade. Sea Spray thrives in warm to hot climates, USDA zones 7-1. The company says the appearance is similar to Kentucky bluegrass, and Sea Spray has a similar pattern of striping. Mowing heights may be maintained at low putting surface height. "In many situations, alternate water sources such as non-potable or reclaimed water are the only options for turfgrass irrigation. Seashore paspalum is the ideal solution for these poor water conditions," said WCT spokesperson, Danielle Marman. "Sea Spray sod is an instant remedy, as it eliminates the seed germination and establishment phase. And later, easy repairs to the turf can be made with Sea Spray seed." West Coast Turf is a full service sod grower and installer, and has been the supplier of choice to some of the nation's top golf courses, and sports venues. The company has six locations throughout California, Arizona, and Nevada. |
