BoxwoodNorthern Borders Variegated Cotoneaster hugs the ground, maturing at 2 to 3 ft. and spreading to 5 to 8 ft. It has blue-green foliage rimmed in white. This dense-growing cultivar is semi-evergreen, with leaves persisting until late in autumn when they change to an orange-red color.

Northern Borders is a low-maintenance choice that requires little pruning. It can be massed as a woody groundcover for sunny areas in the landscape including banks and slopes, where it can also provide some erosion control.
