A Look Back: Blowing up over blowers

What’s old is new again — or maybe has actually been around for a while. As California legislators consider banning all gas-powered equipment, let’s take a trip back to 1998 when blowers were taking a hit because of the noise they created. According to an article in Landscape Management from that year, if California legislation passed, all blowers sold after Jan. 1, 2000, could not exceed set maximum noise levels, and work had to be performed during certain hours of the day.
