It’s time to pay attention to your Angie’s List profiles. The 10 million member site is now free and expecting new users.

Consumers can now sign up for the free Green membership, which provides access to reviews and ratings. The site also offers two tiers of paid memberships with additional features and services.

“We completed our technology platform migration ahead of schedule, have quietly had our reviews paywall down, moved our existing members into the new tiers and have been signing up new members,” said Angie’s List President and CEO Scott Durchslag at a launch event in New York. “This enabled us to assess organic demand and to scale the new platform more gradually, ramping up to our integrated marketing launch today.”

Durchslag said website numbers have looked encouraging since dropping the paywall.

“In the most recent week, new member sign-ups increased nearly fourfold compared to a year ago and, among those members, unique visits more than doubled,” he said. “In that same period, unique members searching have more than doubled and the number of service provider profile views from those members more than doubled.”

Paid memberships cost $24.99 a year for Silver and $99.99 a year for Gold. The paid memberships add price and quality guarantees, customer support, a magazine subscription and discounts. The company promises to add project pricing and scheduling tools, a handyman chat line, eCommerce savings and more.
