Arborjet releases new flow meter

Arborjet released AccuFlo, a flow meter made from 3D-printed carbon fiber.

The AccuFlo meter is lightweight and durable, and its electronic control system can adapt and be calibrated to most spray tanks, the company said. The product weighs several ounces and runs on a watch battery with a micro-USB charger. Additionally, because fluid doesn’t run through the device, there are no parts to clog up or wear out.

“At Arborjet, we don’t rush to modify a widget or blindly follow a request for something longer, shorter, heavier or lighter — we focus on the job the customer is trying to accomplish,” said Russ Davis, Arborjet’s president and CEO. “That’s what led to longer-lasting injection formulations and to the tremendous success of the Quik-jet Air.”

The AccuFlo attaches with velcro to any wrist or mechanical part of the spray system. The device calibrates to the flow and liquid viscosity in seconds. When in calibration mode, the applicator dispenses a known amount into a graduated cylinder and then converts the dispense time into flow. Using an arrow to scroll up or down, users can select the appropriate amount to dispense and the AccuFlo will sound when the application amount is reached. It will also remember that flow rate until changed, the company said.

“The job isn’t to provide a flow meter to measure the flow of a particular spray tank,” Davis said. “The job is to be able to apply the proper dose from any spray tank at a reasonable price.”
