Bach Business Partners to host training event for landscape designers

Bach Business Partners will offer a training course, titled “Mastering the Landscape Design Process,” Oct. 24-25 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Champion, Pa.

The event will offer a collaborative curriculum focusing on efficiency, leadership and relationship building during all three phases of the design process.

“There is a tremendous amount of training in the marketplace that focuses on technology and materials that can enhance the unique creative skills of a designer,” said Bach Business Partners Principal Steven Bach. “But, we’ve found that there is little available that helps them to become more effective and profitable team members within a landscape contracting business.”

The training will kick off with a half-day workshop led by renowned speaker and New York Times bestselling author Steve McClatchy. His talk, “Leading Relationships” will zero in on effective communication, expectation setting, giving and receiving feedback, gaining commitment and resolving conflict, according to the company.

“Within the course of a day, a designer is asked to juggle myriad responsibilities. To be successful, they must manage time efficiently, communicate clearly with both the customer and the sales team and remain cognizant of a customer’s budget parameters,” Bach said. “They need to efficiently handle 11th hour revisions and know when to draw the line, while also managing necessary permitting and approval paperwork, contributing to estimates and providing final design notations that ensure project crew efficiency. Failure at any stage of the process directly affects the project outcome and, ultimately, the company’s overall success.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to share their experiences and ideas, and roundtable discussions will be incorporated in the day.

The cost of this two-day landscape designer training is $400 per company with no limit on the number of team members that each company can send. The full event agenda, additional details and a registration link can be found on the Bach Business Partners website.
