Bahco introduced two new models of electric secateurs—BCL21 and BCL22—designed for repeated use by professional landscape gardeners and growers.

Both models reduce friction and energy consumption, require only weekly lubrication, switch easily between half- and wide-open blades and offer precise control of the progressive opening, according to the company. The tool’s blade is xylan coated and the counter blade is chrome plated. Detection of the finger position on the trigger opens the cutting head.

Additional features include:

  • Precision Bacho Pradines cutting head;
  • Brushless engine with motor cooling system, containing no carbon for maintenance-free performance;
  • Toolless blade change or adjustment;
  • Finger protection; and
  • Waste evacuation through two holes, preventing the accumulation of debris in mechanical parts.

The BCL21 is compact and maneuverable and offers a cutting diameter of up to 35 mm, making it suitable for vineyards, horticulture and maintenance work in parks and gardens. It’s 10.24 inches long and weighs 24 ounces.

The BCL22 provides a cutting diameter of 45 mm, ideal for heavy pruning work. It’s 11.73 inches long and weighs 30 ounces.

Two battery options are available: BCL1B1 and BCL1B2.
