The blooms on First Editions Vanilla Strawberry start out white, changing to a soft pink and finally to a strawberry-red that lasts for three to four weeks — longer than most Hydrangea paniculata. New blooms keep the multicolored show going throughout the summer and early fall. The extra-large blooms are held on strong, red stems that cascade later in the season. With widths of up to 5 ft. and heights up to 7 ft., its upright habit and large cone-shaped flowers are especially showy planted in groups in a border. It thrives in full sun in Zones 4-8.
