Bayer releases lawn care guide book

|

bayer_cropscience3Environmental Science, a division of Bayer CropScience, released the Bayer Turf Solutions Guide, a resource designed to answer problems affecting lawn care professionals. The guide, available in print and e-book, provides information on the identification, biology and key cultural and chemical controls for the most common diseases, weeds and insects affecting warm- and cool-season, as well as transition zone turfgrass.

“Tools like the Bayer Turf Solutions Guide are a critical part of the Bayer commitment to support the lawn and landscape industry and to continue to offer the best and most up-to-date turfgrass management strategies available,” said Peter Farno, Bayer Lawn & Landscape business manager. “Lawn and landscape professionals face countless challenges on a daily basis. This guide was specifically designed with the intent to help mitigate those challenges.”

The guide offers separate versions dedicated to warm-season, cool-season and transition zone turfgrass. Similarly, all diagnosis tips and product descriptions are targeted to counter the diseases, weeds and insects unique to each version. The weed section outlines solutions for popular pests, such as crabgrass, dallisgrass, doveweed, goosegrass, Poa annua and Virginia buttonweed. The insects portion is designed to de-mystify pests, such as armyworms, billbugs, crane flies, fire ants and white grubs. And the disease portion includes solutions for tough-to-control diseases, such as brown patch, dollar spot, fairy ring, gray leaf spot and summer patch.
