BrightView kicked off 2019 by acquiring Emerald Landscape Co., a commercial landscaping firm located in California’s Bay Area. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Emerald specializes in commercial landscape maintenance, enhancement, tree care, turf management and irrigation services. Emerald has more than 200 employees who work at branch locations throughout the Bay Area, which include: Livermore, Hayward, Concord, San Jose, Manteca and Tracy.
Steve Jacobson, Emerald’s president and co-founder, will continue to run the day-to-day operation of these existing branches, along with Emerald’s senior leadership team.
“This transaction is a testament to our robust, strong-on-strong acquisition pipeline and puts BrightView on track to achieve its annualized maintenance revenue acquisition goal,” said Andrew Masterman, Brightview CEO.
Troutman Sanders served as legal adviser to BrightView, and Thompson, Welch, Soroko & Gilbert served as legal adviser to Emerald.
