BrightView acquires two commercial landscape companies

January 13, 2020 -  By

BrightView Holdings recently purchased Summit Landscape Group LLC in Rock Hill, S.C., and of Signature Coast Holdings LLC, of Napa, Calif. The terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Andrew Masterman, BrightView president and chief executive officer, said Signature Coast is the second-largest acquisition BrightView has made since the company’s implementation of its ‘Stay on Strong’ acquisition strategy.

Signature Coast’s operations span nine locations in both California (Concord, Davis, Marin, Napa, Rocklin, Sacramento and Santa Rosa) and Nevada (Carson City and Reno). The company provides landscape maintenance, irrigation, enhancement, installation, arbor care, pest control and snow removal services under its three major brands: Coast Landscape Management, Signature Landscapes and C&R Landscape and serve clients across the corporate, HOA, multi-family and municipal segments. Kelly Solomon, CEO of Signature Coast, and her senior leadership team will remain with BrightView to guide the integration process and beyond.

“Our shared values toward our customers and employees convinced me that joining BrightView was the logical next step for Signature Coast,” she said. “In addition to sharing best practices and leveraging industry-leading resources, I am excited by the opportunities that we will create for our award-winning team members to continue growing while keeping the customer at the center of everything we do.”

Masterman also says the addition of Summit Landscape Group will bolster BrightView’s footprint in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Summit Landscape Group was founded in 2011 and has operations in Charlotte, N.C., Charleston and Hilton Head, S.C., and Nashville, Tenn. Summit offers a full suite of landscaping services including, turf management, agronomics, tree and plant care, landscape design and installation, irrigation installation and repair, hardscapes, landscape lighting, erosion control, stormwater control and inspection, soil stabilization, grading and snow and ice removal. Founders Mike Knabenshue and Steve Adolph will remain with BrightView to provide leadership continuity.

“We are proud of the business and the reputation we’ve established since founding Summit, which is why we felt that BrightView was the best fit to continue building on that legacy. We are excited by the long-term opportunities that joining BrightView will generate for us, for our team and for our customers,” Knabenshue and Adolph said in a statement.
