Nufarm’s National Leadership team voted to continue support for Project EverGreen’s GreenCare for Troops program as presenting sponsor with another $150,000 contribution.

During fiscal year 2018, Nufarm pledged to support the organization’s efforts by becoming the first significant sponsor of the nationwide program.

“Last year’s decision to be presenting sponsor for the GreenCare for Troops program was driven by the vision of opportunity as well as the natural alignment between our industry and the mission of the program,” said Sean Casey, Nufarm’s vp of turf and ornamental sales. “This year’s decision to continue our pledge was based on the facts.”

The numbers reveal 365 new volunteers registered over the last 12 months, bolstering a base of nearly 1,500 active volunteers participating in the program. GreenCare for Troops volunteers provided 700 military families with lawn care and landscape services as well as the peace of mind that comes with a well-maintained property.

Both Project Evergreen and Nufarm leaders are pleased with these results but are eager to multiply these numbers even more during the upcoming months.

“Nufarm’s support of GreenCare for Troops has elevated the nationwide awareness of the program and gave us the ability to double our outreach team who work closely with both volunteers and military families,” said Cindy Code, executive director of Project EverGreen.

Growth in the number of military families receiving services, increased social media activity and a magnified GIE+EXPO presence are a few of the specifics that the partnership enabled last year. These projects and more, including sponsorship packets and annual summaries, will be additions to the work expected to continue the elevated awareness.
