Ewing Irrigation and Supply acquires Hageman Earth Cycle
Ewing Irrigation and Supply acquires northern Colorado-based Hageman Earth Cycle, a move the companies said will create a new service model while continuing to increase Ewing Landscape Materials locations in Colorado.
Ewing, the nation’s largest family-owned wholesale distributor of landscape and water management products, has locations throughout the state including the Denver metro area, Colorado Springs and Fort Collins. With the Hageman acquisition effective April 8, there are now seven Ewing Landscape Materials yards in Colorado in addition to five irrigation branches.
“Roger and Peggy Hageman have been instrumental in the Colorado green industry for decades,” says Matthew Hulsey, Ewing’s Mountain States divisional vice president. “At Ewing, we are honored to continue the business and service model they’ve built since 1995, with an emphasis on quality service, family, and sustainability.”
Ewing intends to continue Hageman Earth Cycle services while adding features customers have come to know at their own nationwide locations.
“We picked Ewing because they have a strong family-owned business background,” says Roger Hageman. “We’re confident they’ll carry our values forward and treat our customers and employees well. We will miss being such a big part of our community, but we’re already looking at ways we can volunteer and give back while we enjoy our retirement.”
The Hageman family built the commercial and retail landscape supply and recycling company carrying their namesake after working in the industry as a landscape maintenance contractor for 20 years. Since the mid-1990s, Hageman Earth Cycle offers customers bulk landscaping materials as well as green waste recycling. The business also provided community support to Fort Collins, Colo., in the aftermath of a 1995 spring snowstorm by grinding and composting broken branches and debris impacting the community.
“The synergies between Hageman and Ewing’s businesses align not only as family-owned and operated businesses focused on customer service excellence, but also as green industry stewards with a passion for sustainability,” said Douglas W. York, president and CEO of Ewing.
Through this partnership, Ewing will retain staff at the Hageman Earth Cycle location.
