FD2B Talk Radio Insight of the Night: Pat Donovan

Accidents are no accident. That’s according to Pat Donovan of Risk Prevention Consultants. As both a seasoned landscape contractor and retired New York/New Jersey Port Authority police officer, Donovan understands both sides of “the ticket” when it comes to safety violations for trucks and trailers as well as personal protection equipment (PPE).

One thing he’s learned and one of his many insights last night was that it’s better to be safe than sorry. According to Donovan, if you properly maintain your trucks and equipment and your employees present a professional image along with proper maintenance documentation, you will greatly reduce your chances of receiving a moving violation.

However, if you’re driving with four guys in a three-seater or have residential plates on a commercial vehicle, then you better watch out. Add a bad attitude and it’s a one-way trip to the impound lot for you.
