Husquvarna released EPOS technology, a satellite-based navigation system for its Automower robotic mowers.

Husqvarna EPOS satellite-based technology can create virtual boundaries for professional robotic mowers with an accuracy of up to 1.18 inches.

The company said this innovation will increase the flexibility and use of robotic mowers into areas that were traditionally challenging for robotic lawn mowers, such as passing hard surfaces. All robotic mowers are integrated with Husqvarna Fleet Services, a fleet management control system.

The EPOS technology will launch in the U.S. in 2020.

“Robotics and autonomous solutions will play a major role in the future of green space management,” said Sascha Menges, president Husqvarna Division. “Husqvarna EPOS is a technological breakthrough in Husqvarna’s robotic mowing that will further accelerate the adaptation of robotics in professional lawn care.”
