Joshua Tree opens first franchise in New York

Joshua Tree Experts, a Pennsylvania-based home services franchise that provides tree maintenance, lawn care and pest control services, signed its first franchisee, Carlos Lozano, a former investment banker and lifetime entrepreneur. Loranzo will operate out of Orange County, N.Y.

“Joshua Tree Experts actually came out of necessity. I had some trees I needed taken care of, and it was like pulling teeth trying to get someone to come out,” he said. “After I went through the process and finally got service completed, I realized that there was such a need for a good tree service company in my area, especially if the level of service I received is what everyone is dealing with.”

Lozano decided franchising was the more appealing investment option due to the investment range and available support. As Joshua Tree Expert’s first franchisee, Lozano said he looks forward to establishing a strong foundation with the brand as it continues to grow. As the first local owner, Lozano feels confident he will have more than enough support as he grows and sees an opportunity to grow to be a model franchisee.

“They really work in the tree business, and to me, that’s worth way more than someone who says they’re a C-level executive and will give business advice but has never worked with trees,” he said. “Their team is really what caught me.”

The company said it plans expansions in Georgia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas.
