Kichler is partnering with Vera, a provider of smart home control solutions, to bring wireless control capabilities to its product line.

Through the partnership, consumers can pair Kichler Design Pro LED Controllers with the Vera gateway and app to manage and customize lighting schedules, programs and zones from any mobile device. Two options are available, the Kichler 16082BK—Vera Edge and the Kichler 16083BK—Vera Plus.

“Installers and electrical contractors can deliver the convenience and customized control options their landscape customers are seeking,” said Scott Pesta, product manager for Kichler. “Landscape lighting can be tied into consumers’ lifestyles offering a total smart home system that can operate motion sensors, cameras, 120-v exterior lighting, thermostats, locks and more.”

The interface is available for both Apple iOS and Android operating systems. Download the Vera App to any smartphone, tablet or computer, plug in the Vera Gateway and link to the home’s Wi-Fi system. Then the Vera app will locate the Kichler LED Controller and link it wirelessly to the Vera Gateway. Secure cloud servers, powered by MIOS, safely connect the app and home Wi-Fi.

Through the Vera app, the LED controller can program the lighting zones to turn on or off at specific times without interfering with pre-defined schedules. Additionally, the Vera gateway and app include a plug-in relay to retrofit existing Kichler transformers.
