Kubota Tractor Corp. entered the stand-on mower segment and introduced three new models with electronic fuel injection (EFI) to the Z700 family of gasoline zero-turn mowers at this year’s GIE+EXPO in Louisville, Ky. The SZ Series stand-ons will be available at Kubota dealerships in January, and the new EFI models will be shipping to dealers this November.

“Entering the stand-on commercial mower category further exemplifies Kubota’s commitment to provide a complete line of turf products to its dealers, making Kubota dealers a true one-stop shop for turf professionals,” said Tom Vachal, Kubota’s senior turf product manager. “The new SZ mowers feature a generous operator platform that you can stand on or flip up to walk behind in uneven terrain, giving these mowers optimal versatility.”

Kubota’s SZ Series is comprised of three models, including the SZ19-36, SZ22-48 and SZ26-52. The new stand-on mowers are designed for landscapers that mow zero-lot homes or commercial properties with narrow lawns that can’t be mowed with zero-turn mowers. The SZ Series mowers are equipped with Kawasaki FX and FT EFI commercial engines, and hydro-gear transmissions are designed with a low center of gravity for exceptional stability and fast travel speeds up to 11 mph, depending on model.

Kubota added the Z751KWi with a 48-inch deck, Z781KWi with a 54-inch deck and Z781KWTi with a large 60-inch deck to its professional Z700 Series of zero-turn mowers.

“We introduced the Z700 Series five years ago, and it has become a staple in many landscape fleets across the country,” Vachal said. “We are very excited to add three new EFI models to that line today, adding exceptional performance for challenging conditions.”

The new EFI models boast an electronic fuel injection system that adjusts the high-pressure fuel delivery for optimum power and fuel efficiency, ideal for challenging conditions and uneven terrain. The new mowers are equipped with Kawasaki EFI engines that combine the advantages of a fully integrated electronic governor and open-loop technology. Other features on the new EFI models include 24-inch low profile tires for reduced ground pressure and tire roll; a large 3.5-inch LCD engine monitor and a dial throttle control for precise engine management; a new suspension seat; a deck step indicator; water- and dust-proof safety switches; 6.5-inch no-flat caster tires; and a 12-volt outlet to charge and power 12-v devices.

With the addition of the three new EFI models, Kubota’s Z700 Series now includes nine models.
