PITTSBURGH—Arlington, Texas-based Baldi Gardens; Gilford, N.H.-based Belknap Landscape Co.; and Tappahannock, Va.-based Home & Turf have joined the LandOpt Contractor Network, expanding its footprint to include New Hampshire as well as the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas region. Home & Turf is its second Virginia location.

A full-service landscape company founded in 1993 by Ricardo and Lillina Baldi, Baldi Gardens is a family-owned business that also includes sons Giuseppe (GM/Maintenance Services) and Carlo (Project Services/design) as integral management team members.  The business provides everything from gardening and lawn care maintenance services to project work such as construction, water features, drainage design, low-voltage lighting, stone layout and commercial development.

“As a company, we’ve done well, but have seen our revenue remain at roughly the same level year over year,” notes Giuseppe Baldi. “We knew we were lacking in systems and processes, but we weren’t sure exactly what we were missing. When we discovered LandOpt, it seemed to be answer that we had been looking for.”

Belkap Landscape Co.’s Hayden McLaughlin, who founded the family-owned business in 1988, agrees. “Within the LandOpt Network, there are 20-plus other companies who are successful using this system,” he says. “I wanted to be part of that.”

Home & Turf Owner Robert Shackelford agrees. “As a LandOpt Contractor, I think Home & Turf can avoid the growth ceiling that many in our industry encounter when they reach $4 million to $5 million in size.  I look at this as a new beginning in many respects, and truly see unlimited potential for growth.”

The continuing growth of the LandOpt Network supports LandOpt President & CEO Tim Smith’s long-held belief, that there is an ever-growing need for professionalism and sound business practice within the maturing landscape industry. “LandOpt Contractors are helping to establish a new benchmark for professionalism,” he concludes.
