1. Watch out, there’s a Deere behind you! Ahead of June’s LM150 sponsored by John Deere, LM Editor-in-Chief Seth Jones met up with Ken Taylor, sales manager, corporate business division, at the company’s Cary, N.C. headquarters.

2. Cutting the cord The Home Depot Spring Backyard event was held April 16 in Atlanta. The event featured companies including Toro, DeWalt, Makita, EGO, Milwaukee and MTD, who showed off their latest in cordless equipment. At the event, companies showcased homeowner-related products and commercial-grade products for smaller companies looking to get a start in the industry.

4. Perks of the job LM Associate Editor Sarah Webb tries her hand at using a cordless chainsaw during the Home Depot Spring Backyard Event. Webb had never used a chainsaw of any kind before and was nervous at first, but felt really powerful once she got the hang of it.

5. The kid is alright LM columnist Marty Grunder (left) poses with Jayden Kazantsev, a 15-year-old entrepreneur who attended Grow! 2019. He skipped a biology test in order to attend the event and his mother stopped by for a little while to make sure he wasn’t being kidnapped by a bunch of strangers. Kazantsev has been in business for two years and has six clients. He is considering hiring his first employee this year.

6. Man on the move We saw John Janes of Caterpillar (left) at the NALP Workforce Summit in Washington, D.C., in February, and again at NCLC in Colorado in March. Here, Janes takes a moment to say hi to Andrew Ziehler, Ziehler Lawn and Tree Care (center), and LM’s Bill Roddy.
