Melanie Stanton leads TPI

Melanie Stanton accepted the position of executive director of Turfgrass Producers International (TPI).

She joins TPI from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) in Arlington Heights, Ill., where she served as accreditation manager. While at ASPS, Stanton secured a six-year accreditation, allowing the society to more efficiently allocate staff resources to other projects, secure outside funding for programs and work with groups to develop and implement flexible long-term planning to impact public policy. Prior to that, she was with the Sherwood Group in Northbrook, Ill., and ACCESS Medical Group in Arlington Heights.

“We are pleased to welcome Melanie to the TPI team,” said Bob Weerts, president of TPI. “We believe her management, association experience and customer service capabilities will assist TPI with accelerated growth, strategic direction and membership communications in the immediate future.”

Stanton holds Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University.
