Jay Weitzman, an entrepreneur and real estate business owner, purchased the rights to three Monster Tree Service territories in the North Shore, a region just north of Chicago, Ill. The company is a Fort Washington, Pa.-based tree service franchise.

The location officially launched in March. Monster Tree Service achieved year-over-year growth since 2009, and expects to exceed $50 million in systemwide revenue in 2019 and achieve $100 million in annual sales by 2021.

Weitzman attended the Wharton School of business at the University of Pennsylvania, double majoring in finance and entrepreneurial management.

“I am thrilled to be a Monster Tree Service franchisee. I was actively looking for a suitable franchise when I found Monster Tree Service, and I knew right away it was the business for me,” Weitzman says. “I was very impressed with the feedback from existing franchisees, the professionalism from the corporate staff and the sound business model.”

Josh Skolnick, CEO and founder of Monster Tree Service, shares the same energy about Weitzman and the new location. “Jay is a perfect fit for the Monster Tree Service brand,” Skolnick says. “He comes from a very sound business background, he knows the area and has an incredible work ethic. Those are the qualities we look for in franchisees. We are very glad to have him on our team, and I can’t wait to see his growth in the coming years.”
