The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) presented its Lifetime Leadership Award to Phil Allen, Ph.D., and its Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award to Crystal Arlington, owner and president of Affiliated Grounds Maintenance Group, during the NALP Leaders Forum. The event was held Feb. 25-27 in Los Cabos, Mexico.

NALP’s Lifetime Leadership Award is presented annually to a member of the association who has demonstrated leadership, service and commitment to both NALP and the landscape industry. It honors individuals who have improved the landscape industry, inspired others throughout their careers with their pioneering spirit and demonstrated inventiveness.

Allen is a longtime educator, working at Brigham Young University–Provo. He is a former member of the NALP board of directors, currently serves on the Foundation board and the Education Advisory Council and is an NALP Trailblazer. He also has served on many other committees within the association.

“Phil’s contributions to NALP and this industry are immeasurable,” said Sabeena Hickman, CEO of NALP. “His love for the industry, but most of all his love for the young people that make up the future of our industry, is what makes Phil so special. His leadership, friendship and knowledge have enhanced our industry, and we are grateful for his contributions.”
