NPMA’s Henriksen to join NALP as vp of public affairs

|

Missy Henriksen will join the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP, formerly the Professional Landcare Network) on July 1 as vice president of public affairs, a newly created position.

Missy HenriksenHenriksen, who will oversee the expansion of the advocacy efforts at NALP, has served in a similar role at the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) since 2009 as vice president of public affairs and the executive director of the Professional Pest Management Alliance.

At NPMA, she oversaw many public education campaigns promoting the pest management industry.

“As we developed our new strategic direction over the past year, it became evident that we needed to expand our efforts to promote our industry,” said NALP CEO Sabeena Hickman. “We have made a commitment to our members to advocate relentlessly in support of their businesses, and adding Missy to our talent pool made great sense.”

Henriksen said she’s excited to join NALP. “I believe in the work done by landscape and lawn care professionals and am eager to strengthen the industry’s voice to home and business owners,” she said.

Prior to joining NPMA, Henriksen served as executive director for the American Composites Manufacturers Association.
