The Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment (RISE) welcomed new governing board members and recognized volunteers during its annual conference Aug. 26-29 in Marana, Ariz.

Newly elected governing board members include: Stephanie Jensen, BASF, holding a manufacturer seat; Karen Larson, Clarke, holding a formulator seat; and Scott Todd, Central Life Sciences, holding a manufacturer seat.

A new executive committee was also elected: Gilles Galliou, chair, Bayer Environmental Science; Sean Casey, vice chair, Nufarm Americas; and Larson, treasurer.

Sipcam Agro USA promoted Michael Maravich to lead sales and marketing across all agricultural, specialty (turf and ornamental) and material preservation markets.

Maravich will report to Sipcam Agro USA’s CEO John Gertz. Maravich is charged to deliver the same specialty segment sales and marketing success that he has overseen over the last two years in the agricultural market.

Maravich has vast experience with sales, marketing and product development with various manufacturer and distribution service businesses. Maravich’s working experience in the control product space began in 1999, starting in sales, then into product management and marketing roles. With Maravich’s experience at the manufacturer and distributor levels, he understands the full scope of what it takes to provide innovative solutions and services but also the expectations and needs of distribution, end users and the grower channel.

NaturaLawn of America welcomed Elvin Wolfe and Kevin Rutledge as regional managers.

Rutledge and Wolfe have been working in the green industry since the early 90s.

For the past 13 years, Rutledge managed operations in commercial and residential services for a leading lawn care company in the U.S. During his time there, Rutledge was responsible for overseeing the production standards of the company, holding the position of operations manager.

Wolfe has experience in general maintenance, commercial mowing, hardscapes, arboriculture and water fixtures, with a primary focus in both ornamentals and turf. He worked for Mount St. Mary’s University for 14 years, having held various leadership positions, ultimately becoming operations manager toward the end of his tenure.

Peter Lange has joined PBI-Gordon Corp. as a sales representative.

Based in Georgia, he is responsible for PBI-Gordon product sales to golf course and turfgrass management customers in Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia. Most recently, Lange was the assistant golf course superintendent at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Atlanta. While there, he managed a crew of nearly 20 golf course technicians and helped oversee many budgeting, administrative and agronomic functions at the club. Prior to that, he held intern and technician positions at the Atlantic Athletic Club and the Cedar Rapids Country Club (Cedar Rapids, Iowa).

Lange holds a master’s in business administration from Louisiana State University, a Bachelor of Science in business management from Florida State University and an associate’s of applied science in golf course and athletic field turfgrass management from Kirkwood Community College (Cedar Rapids, Iowa).
