Logo: Project EverGreenProject EverGreen, the Cleveland-based nonprofit that works to raise awareness about the benefits of green space and often renovates green spaces in urban areas, is launching a contest to select the recipient of its next renovation.

The winning parks and recreation and public works departments will receive an Exmark Lazer Z X-Series mower package and a renovation project in their city.

The contest, called “Our Winning Green Space,” is co-sponsored by the Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA), Exmark Manufacturing and The Foundation for Safer Athletic Fields for Everyone (SAFE).

“Project EverGreen is thrilled to partner with Exmark and STMA on this opportunity to raise awareness of our “Healthy Turf. Healthy Kids.” program and the importance of safe, grass play fields for kids,” said Cindy Code, Project EverGreen executive director. “It’s also a fun opportunity for cities to share their story and compete for a field make-over.”

Municipalities can enter by submitting photos and an essay explaining why their city deserves new equipment and a renovated playing field, and how it will assist them in maintaining a healthier and safer area for kids to play.

Submissions can be made at ProjectEverGreen.org from Sept. 12 to Nov. 1. The winner will be announced in December.
