CanopyRaleigh, N.C.-based home services startup Canopy purchased residential landscape maintenance accounts from Greenscape, based in Holly Springs, N.C. Terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

More than 120 former Greenscape residential customers are now being serviced by Canopy’s crews. Greenscape is also an adviser to the company, which recently raised $2 million of funding and is backed by Lowe’s, among other investors.
“For 37 years Greenscape’s mission has been ‘outstanding results through great service,'” says Daniel Currin, CEO of Greenscape, which ranked No. 115 on the 2016 LM150 list of the largest landscape companies with an estimated $14.4 million in 2015 revenue. “It was important to us that, as we focus on developing our commercial landscape services, we partner with a residential maintenance company that shares our same mission. Canopy does just that. Their customer service, by leveraging technology to provide excellent communication with their customers, is truly great. Because of their consistent communication with customers, they are tuned into their customers’ needs and are able to provide outstanding results through their skilled team members. We’re proud to partner with Canopy and know our residential customers will be more than pleased with their Canopy experience.”

Canopy, which says it’s “revolutionizing the landscape maintenance industry by offering customers a better, more transparent service experience, as well as a more supportive, rewarding environment for their landscape maintenance crews” added 30 employees in 2016 and plans to expand to Charlotte, N.C., and throughout the Southeast U.S.

“While we have been able to use our technology to create many efficiencies in scheduling and routing, our No. 1 priority has always been and will continue to be serving our customers and providing a positive work environment and opportunities for growth to our crew members,” says Hunt Davis, CEO of Canopy. “We were excited to have the opportunity to partner with Greenscape, and continue their legacy of top quality service.”
