SiteOne becomes ‘largest supplier in New York City’

August 3, 2016 -  By

SiteOne_webSiteOne Landscape Supply has arrived in the Big Apple by acquiring supplier Bissett, a collective consisting of Bissett Nursery and Bissett Equipment. SiteOne would not disclose terms of the deal.

“Both Bissett Nursery and Bissett Equipment are clear market leaders, and they complement our existing business in the agronomics, irrigation and outdoor lighting markets,” said Doug Black, CEO of SiteOne Landscape Supply. “Joining forces with the Bissett team makes us the largest supplier of all landscaping supplies, material and equipment to green industry professionals on Long Island and in New York City.”

Acquiring the 56-year-old distributor of nursery, hardscapes and landscape supplies marks SiteOne Landscape Supply’s first footprint in the New York City and Long Island area. The company has three Long Island locations—two in Holtsville, N.Y., and one in Dix Hills, N.Y.

The company has no plans to change Bissett’s personnel on any level, said Greg Kirksey, director of communications at SiteOne. Its president, Bob Postischil, will continue to lead the company.

“Bissett has a long-tenured and deeply talented staff who are committed to the success of their customers, which is a perfect fit with our customer-focused culture at SiteOne,” Black said.

Update: This post was updated to include Kirksey’s statement.
