Snow & Ice Symposium heads to Rhode Island

SIMALogoTMThe Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) will hold its 19th annual Snow & Ice Symposium in Providence, R.I., June 22-24. The event features a trade show, speakers, educational sessions and networking opportunities for the snow and ice industry.

“SIMA is excited to return to Providence, the site of the 13th Annual Snow & Ice Symposium in 2010.” said SIMA CEO Martin Tirado. “We look forward to the show as a way for snow and ice professionals to gain new ideas, share challenges and successes, and check out the latest industry equipment and services, all in one place.”

The 2016 symposium will feature three new options for in-depth preconference workshops on June 22: Equipment Safety and Maintenance Best Practices, Sustainable Salt Use and Parking Deck Operations.

There will also be two keynote speakers. Ben Casnocha will present “The Alliance: Managing Talent in the Networked Age” on June 23, and Dr. James Rouse will present “High Performance, Wellness and Happiness at the Speed of Life” on June 24.

The Symposium will be held at the Rhode Island Convention Center & Omni Providence Hotel.

Other event highlights include:

  • A two-day trade show with the latest equipment and services from more than 120 exhibitors;
  • 25 concurrent education sessions covering relevant topics in labor & employee development, risk mitigation and management, ice management, business growth & efficiency and personal health & safety;
  • “Snack & Chat” roundtable discussions on various snow and ice topics;
  • Networking receptions; and
  • The SIMA Awards & Recognition Night, honoring the best in snow and ice.
