Sperber Landscape Cos. acquires Kujawa Enterprises
Sperber Landscape Cos. (SLC) acquired Kujawa Enterprises (KEI).
It is the company’s first acquisition since launching earlier this year. KEI is a provider of commercial landscape maintenance and enhancement services, winter services and interior plantscaping. Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis., the acquisition expands the Calabasas, Calif.-based SLC’s commercial landscape service offerings into the Midwest.
KEI’s customer portfolio consists of class-A office, industrial, institutional, retail and HOA’s. The company ranked No. 146 on the 2017 LM150 list.
The acquisition adds 130 employees to SLC. According to Richard Sperber, CEO of SLC, KEI leadership and branding will remain unchanged under the guidance of the Kujawa family.
“Our first acquisition is one that came with careful consideration as it sets the tone for the company culture we set out to create with Sperber Landscape Cos. KEI is a natural fit, as it has been a family owned and operated business since its founding in 1926,” Sperber said. “KEI has a reputation as a market leader and as a company with strong values and emphasis on taking care of its clients and employees. We are excited to be a part of the continued growth and innovation of such a special company.”
A statement released from KEI said, “The Kujawa Family is honored and proud to be partnered with Richard Sperber and the long, storied history of the Sperber family legacy. Excellence, innovation and dedication to service, employees and customers are in the DNA of both our families and cultures. The Kujawas and the entire KEI family could not be more excited about the future.”
Brian Corbett and his firm, CCG Advisors, facilitated the transaction. CCG served as the exclusive investment banking firm to the Kujawa family.
